Class Description

Spanish I is an introductory course developed for students with little or no knowledge of the Spanish language and culture.  This class provides a basic knowledge of the Spanish language through a wide variety of instruction, including speaking, listening, reading, writing, and viewing.  Demonstrating an understanding of the people, history, culture, and customs of the Spanish-speaking world is an important aspect of this class.  Spanish I students will develop intermediate spoken and written language skills, and will be prepared to build upon this knowledge in a more advanced class.  As the student’s knowledge of the Spanish language expands, he or she will learn more about themselves, their community, and the cultures of diverse peoples throughout the world.
